SEPTEMBER CLASSES

Students must register and pay in advance. All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before class time for a refund.  All classes include up to $10 worth of supplies, unless otherwise stated. This supply allowance is for class materials only.         

BASIC EARRING – Tues., Sept. 7th, 6 pm. Learn the basics of earring making using headpins, wire and beads. Create several pairs of lovely earrings. Beg.-Int.  $20     

ETCHING AND EMBOSSING -  Wed., Sept. 8th, 6 pm. Explore etching and embossing on copper or brass, using stamps and chemical washes. Make a unique and beautiful pendant or earrings. All levels. $30   

BASIC NECKLACE – Wed., Sept. 15th, 6 pm. A wonderful beginner’s class to learn about design, cords, clasps and putting it all together. Everyone will make a necklace. Beginner. $20

BEAD NIGHT OUT! - Thurs., Sept. 16th, 6-9pm. Come spend the evening making jewelry with others! Bring your own supplies or buy them here. Finish some old projects or start a new one!  No cost! Just fun!

VIKING KNITTING BRACELET –  Sat., Sept. 18th, 10:30 am. Using a dowel and wire, create a “knitted” tube and then pull thru a draw plate for a flawless tightly woven bracelet! It only looks hard to make! $35 (includes some supplies)

BASICS OF SOLDERING – Mon., Sept. 20th, 6-8:30 pm. This can be a one or two day session. Students will learn the basic chemistry and set-up for soldering small items. Students will learn how to set up a minimal soldering operation for under $100. Peter Senesac will explain solders, fluxes, pickling acids and fire scale as well as annealing and work hardening. Peter will also give demos and students will solder jump rings during the first session. $40 (Save $20 and take Beyond Basics of Soldering also for a total of $60)
  

WIRE WRAPPED SPIRAL BRACELET – Tues., Sept. 21st, 6 pm. Create  a beautiful bracelet using sterling or gold-filled wire and beads. Different from the usual wire wrapped bracelet class. Taught by Trude Spillane. $25  
                    

METALSMITHING WORKSHOP - FINISHING TECHNIQUES -Sat., Sept. 25th, 11 am. For those who have unfinished projects and/or are curious about finishing techniques. Spend the day with Peter Senesac learning about hand polishing, finishing with a dremel, steel wool, planishing, oxidizing and more! $60 (supplies not included but are available for purchase)   
                                   
WIRE FLOWER BRACELET – Tues., Sept. 28th, 6 pm. Create beautiful flowers with beads and wire and connect into a beautiful bracelet. All levels. $25

CHAIN, WIRE & BEADS NECKLACE –  Wed., Sept. 29th, 6 pm. A great beginner’s class using a versatile technique! Learn how to connect beads to chain and make a beautiful necklace.  Can be made short or long, you decide! Beg.-Int. $25

 OCTOBER CLASSES

CORRUGATED METAL EARRINGS-  NEW CLASS! Mon., Oct. 4th, 6 pm. Learn how to ripple metal sheet and wire and make into awesome earrings with some embellishment. Students will make one to two pairs of earrings. Taught by Kathy Swift. $35 All levels   
           
WIRE WRAPPED PENDANT – Tues., Oct. 5th, 6 pm.  Learn how to wire wrap a cabochon with a beautiful, professional touch. Taught by Trude Spillane. Intermediate $25

METALSMITHING - BASICS OF SOLDERING & BEYOND BASICS OF SOLDERING – Sat., Oct. 9th, 12-5 pm. This is the same class that is usually taught on 2 evenings.  Students will learn the basic chemistry and set-up for soldering   and how to set up a minimal soldering operation for under $100. Peter Senesac will explain solders, fluxes, pickling acids and fire scale as well as annealing and work hardening, the use of various torches, types of joins, appliqué’, sheet and wire. Peter will also give demos and students will solder jump rings. Students will have tech samples & handouts for future reference and there will be hands-on practice. This is a great preliminary class if you want to take other metalsmithing classes or if you are thinking about setting up your own studio.  $60
   
SILVER ART CLAY PENDANT – 2 sessions, Mon., Oct. 11th, & Tues., Oct. 12th. 6 pm. Discover the fun of working with the incredible art clay  and make a beautiful pendant of fine silver using different types of decorative techniques! Taught by Trude Spillane. All skill levels. $60 (all supplies included)

ADVANCED EARRING-MAKING - NEW CLASS!  Tues., Oct. 19th, 6 pm. Further your earring-making skills by learning how to use chain, wire,  & components to create beautiful, complex earrings. $25 Intermediate

METALSMITHING - MAKING A RING WITH STONES - NEW CLASS!  3 Sessions, Mon., Thurs., & Sat., Oct. 25th, 28th & 30th. Join Peter Senesac for this advanced ring-making class. Students will create a beautiful silver ring with a stone setting. Int.-Adv. $90

KNOTTING GEMS & PEARLS – Tues., Oct. 26th, 6 pm. Learn the fine art of knotting between pearls or gems for a beautiful, professional necklace. Intermediate $25
       
BIRDS NEST RING - NEW CLASS! Wed., Oct. 27th, 6 pm. Learn how to twist & wrap wire into a bird’s nest ring! We will incorporate beads into the design to look like eggs nestled inside. Taught by Holly Merton. All levels. $25
