                  On October 1st Avalon will be 19 years old! Where have the years flown? We want to give a heartfelt thanks to all our family, friends and loyal customers for their support throughout the years. Some of you have been with us along the entire journey and many have joined us along the way.  We hope we’ve enlightened your lives a little, as you definitely have ours!           

                  In celebration of this awesome anniversary we will be having a great sale from Friday, October 1st thru Sunday, October 3rd!

    We are so delighted to be having Sally Roesler from ‘The Bead Goes On’ returning for a trunk sale! The dates are Thursday, Oct. 21st. From 3-8, Friday Oct. 22nd, 10am-8pm, and Saturday, 10am-6pm. This sale will be featuring an incredible selection Thai Hiltribe silver, Israeli silver, resin beads from Germany, Java glass beads and more. We were so impressed with the quality and selection at the last sale in May, we can’t wait to see it all again!!   

           Our next Uptown Art Hop will be Friday evening September 3rd from 6-9 pm.    Participating businesses in Millhopper Square, Marketplace, and Thornebrook Village will extend their hours, serve refreshments and many will be featuring artist’s demon-strations and  music.           

              At Avalon we will be having a staff jewelry show and sale. All jewelry in the store will be 10%-20% off! Gemstone bead strands will also be 20% off as part of our weekend sale. We will also be having our ’Guess How Many Beads Are In The Jar” contest. The three closest winners will receive gift certificates!    

              Other shops in our plaza that will be participating are Wild Birds Unlimited, Alternatives, and The Artisans Guild Gallery. Leonardos is a participating restaurant as well.              

             Transportation between the plazas will be available through ‘Gainesville Rickshaws’. We hope you can come out, stroll between the shops in the beautiful fall weather and enjoy an evening out for the whole family.

                    New Website Almost Ready!

    Last month we announced that we were about to launch a new website. Well, it took a little longer than we thought! After countless hours, and a great team at ‘Acceleration’, a local web company, we really are almost there! (And not a moment too soon! Alignment and other editing issues are beyond my control!) The look is awesome, and there are some great new features too! Like online class sign-ups, a great ‘Get Inspire’ section and lots more pictures of everything! We’ll send out an email when  it is ‘live’!

             DOWN THE STREET BEAD SHOW NEWS

                 We will be very busy these next couple of months with the ‘Down the Street Bead Shows’. We will be in St. Augustine the weekend of September 11th & 12th. This show is now located at the Elks Lodge on A1A. Next is Atlanta for a 3 day Bead Extravaganza on September 24th thru 26th.                             

                  In October we will be in  Havana, Florida the 2nd & 3rd, Pompano Beach October 15th-17th,  and Ft. Myers the 23rd & 24th .
